Guides/IP Blocking

IP Blocking

Exclude specific IP addresses from your analytics so your own visits, office traffic, or development activity don't skew your data.

Why Block IPs?

Every visit you make to your own site gets counted as real traffic. Blocking your IP keeps your analytics clean.

Personal visits

Block your home or office IP to stop your own browsing from inflating page view counts.

Team / office

Exclude your entire team's subnet so internal reviews and QA testing don't appear as real users.

Development

Keep staging and dev server traffic separate from your production analytics.

How to Block an IP

Go to Dashboard → Settings → IP Blocking for the relevant domain.

1

Auto-detect your IP

When you open the Settings page, your current IP is automatically detected and shown in a blue banner. Click Block my IP to add it instantly — no typing required.

2

Add any IP manually

Fill in the Label (optional) and IP Address or CIDR Range fields, then click Block IP. The label is just a reminder for you — it doesn't affect filtering.

// Single IPv4
196.46.182.37
// IPv6 localhost
::1
// Entire office subnet (CIDR)
192.168.1.0/24

Verify and manage

Blocked IPs appear in the list below the form with their label, IP, and the date they were added. Hover over any entry and click the trash icon to remove it.

Supported Formats

The IP field accepts any of these formats.

FormatExampleUse case
IPv4203.0.113.1Single home or office IP
IPv4 CIDR192.168.0.0/24Entire office subnet (256 addresses)
IPv6::1IPv6 localhost / loopback
IPv6 full2001:db8::1ISP-assigned IPv6 address
IPv6 CIDR2001:db8::/32IPv6 subnet range

Important Notes

A few things to keep in mind before blocking IPs.

Existing data is not removed

Blocking an IP only stops future visits from being tracked. Historical data already in your analytics is not deleted.

Per-domain configuration

Each domain has its own blocked IP list. Blocking an IP on dynasty8real.estate does not block it on gitbuy.store. Switch domains in the sidebar to manage each site separately.

Dynamic IPs change

Most home internet connections have dynamic IPs that change periodically. If your IP changes, revisit Settings to update the blocked list. Use a CIDR range (e.g. 203.0.113.0/24) if your ISP assigns addresses within a known block.

Changes apply within minutes

The blocked IP list is checked on every incoming tracking request. New blocks take effect immediately — there is no cache delay.
